Crazy Month

Miss me?

It’s been a crazy month and it’s only going to get crazier as we head into early September.

I’ve been busy at the local Farmer’s market selling (primarily) my jewelry and smaller artwork, this Thursday will be my 3rd week and then I am taking the next week off as we head to the Rockies

camping for our 9th Anniversary.

Once I get back I have Prenatal appointments, another week at the Market and then Munchkin and I fly to New Brunswick to visit family leaving hubby home to hold down the Fort (no pun intended, seeing how we live in Fort Saskatchewan, AB).

He’s offered to take over my table (sweet brave soul he is xox)  at the Last Market for the Season on Sept 5th so treat him nice and buy lots 😉

While all the chaos has been happening I’ve also been busy rearranging my studio and basement in general,

working on a few new paintings which I hope to complete when I get back in September

and I also signed up for a big Christmas Marketplace Sale happening on November 30th hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce.

So I’ll also be busy prepping handmade jewelry and art for gifts and stocking stuffers for that event.

But in the mean time I hope to have a few weeks of relaxing with family.

As a side note, I have cut a few prices on earrings and what not in my Etsy store so there’s no better time to shop 🙂

Electric Guitar Commission Complete

Signed, sealed and delivered to it’s new home in Moncton, New Brunswick.

This was an awesome piece to work on.

The couple who commissioned it, also own an acoustic guitar I did several years ago

Colour of Music (sold)
Colour of Music (sold)

and were looking for something in a similar abstracted, splash style to compliment it for their music/stereo room.

So asides from those parameters I was given free reign on the project which is always nice 🙂

I knew the “she” out of the couple liked teal so I included that in my color choices and went for a 80’s galaxy rock type of feel.

Here’s how it turned out.

These mail really easily and come in two pieces if anyone else is interested in commissioning one I have them on sale until the end of August.

Check em out here.

They make awesome statement wall pieces, great for music/art lovers.

Cheers,

Amanda

Still working away

Well I’ve been busy ordering in supplies, working on jewelry and painting.

I’m still working on the Tree of Knowledge painting but also started a 9×9 painting.

Just finished the background for it and hope to work on the front tonight or tomorrow night.

I’ll post photo’s later.

In the meanwhile here are some of my new Jewelry creations.

If you want to purchase any you can find them here

Reject/Face-lift/Painting

So I got my “Thank-You but…” letter in the mail yesterday for my submission for the city hall art project.

The letter listed all the mediums Artists had proposed and one was metal work.

My money is on that artist getting it, something about small cities trying to look bigger and metal art fixtures seem to go hand in hand.

Mind you I could be wrong and it was just another wet media artist but I doubt it, time will tell.

Either way, it wasn’t me and that kinda sucks but what are you doing to do right, meh.

So I’ve been crazy busy this week babysitting munchkins along with my own so I haven’t gotten a chance to do a whole lot except in the evenings after my monkey has gone to bed.

Those observant among you, (and I hope that’s all of you seeing how you’re on an Art site) should have noticed the change in webpage appearance and the new address.

I am now amandamilke.com  which is pretty cool and the site is morphing into something I hope is a bit more suave.

Lately, I’ve been spending my limited spare time in the evenings placing orders for supplies or working on my new jewelry line, but tonight I just wanted to paint.

So I finished my electric guitar commission, just have to put it all back together and clear coat it a bazillion times and it’s good to go!

I also went back to work on my Tree of Knowledge painting.

So here is a peek at how that is coming along.

Also above it you can see my new Studio motto 😉

I thought it was fitting.

Well I should go pass out because I have one more day of munchkin sitting before I’m free for awhile.

Cheers,

Amanda
