Farmer’s Market

Contacted the Chamber of Commerce Friday and have made arrangements to have a table at the local Fort Saskatchewan’s Farmer’s Market for the month of August!

I will be showcasing and selling some of my smaller art pieces and prints as well as my jewelry.

Should be fun and I’m hoping for a good reception.

In the mean time I will be making and prepping a good supply of merchandise to have on hand.

Waiting for a few new supplies to come in and then we are good to go!

Some of the cool things I’ll be carrying (assuming I get them all done in time) will be painted wooden bracelets, plethora of earrings, pocket watch pendants, hand painted pendants, bookmarks, block prints, mini abstracts, watercolors and a chunk more stuff.

Plus every week there is a gift basket draw that I will be contributing discount vouchers to, to go towards a commission piece.

So it should be a good time.

You can come out buy some jewelry, art and fresh veggies 🙂 how can you go wrong!

Cheers,

Amanda

Home Sweet Home-Studio

Well the renovations have finally been completed in the basement and I am now free to set up my home studio.

Though it isn’t as fancy as some Artist’s may have it is mine and that’s Awesome!

It is far from complete as I still have a few tweaks I would like to make but for now this is how things are progressing.

The other half of the space will be shared by my husband for all his hobbyist en-devours and used as our Multi-Media room including our sizable home library.

All in all it should be a fairly stimulating work/play space.

I’ll update more as thing progress

Cheers!

So it’s been awhile…

I haven’t been doing a whole lot of painting since last I posted as I’ve been waiting to get in to see a neurologist about my increasingly painful carpal tunnel.

That happens this coming Friday, I’m hoping to avoid the surgery as I’m not much for doctors but we shall see.

That being said however, I haven’t been entirely idle.

As time and my hands permit, I’ve been working on my Genesis painting.

Last time I posted I was still in the midst of deciding whether to purchase or build my own canvas.

I opted for doing it from scratch and ordered some heavy rolled canvas from BC.

I had my father-in-law (the carpenter) assist with the frame building and voila a nice big homemade canvas.

I’ve finished painting the background and have started working on the tree outline.

Though I’ve yet to take a picture of this stage yet.

Perhaps in the next couple of days.

Asides from that I’ve also taken part in the “Amazing Grace Art’s Festival”

Annual arts festival returns to church – Fort Saskatchewan Record – Alberta, CA.

Here are a few pictures from that.

Brown Paper Packages…

tied up in bows.

These are a few of my favourite things.

My canvas has arrived! 🙂

Now to build the frame and prime it,

then off to painting.

It’s all very exciting.

It’s been years since I’ve made my own canvas. I’ll be sure to let you know how that goes.

On another note, I’ve been asked to speak at the local Art Club tomorrow night.

They asked if I minded  telling some youth the whys and how comes I became an artist.

So it should prove interesting.

Cheers for tonight.
