Guitar Commission-Part One

As I mentioned in my previous post I’ve received a commission to paint an acoustic guitar.

For fun, I thought I’d post the progress here.

The guy who is commissioning it wanted a sense of abstracted hands moving/playing guitar.

Here’s the rough sketch he green lighted

and the progress so far.

First things first. Take the strings off and any other embellishments that can be removed.

Next rough up the surface with sand paper so the paint will adhere.

Prime Time: I prime it a solid color, in this case white so the colors have a base.

Then I sketch the rough design on.

It will get sharpened up when the time comes to paint it.

Now for the fun part…abstract colors!!!

I love this part.

But, you’ll have to wait for my next post!

Cheers,

A
