Homecoming Commission

One of my favorite things is being asked to commission a piece of Art.

There’s just something fascinating about seeing what painting really captures someones attention plus the pressure of a deadline keeps me on task.

So yay for me πŸ™‚ because I have a couple lined up at the moment.

One is an electric guitar that someone would like done abstracted,

andΒ the other

is a rendition of myΒ “Homecoming” abstract painting but in a different color scheme.

Homecoming 16"x20"
Homecoming 16″x20″

So that is what I’m working on this evening πŸ™‚

Well less chat more paint.

I’ll be sure to post both pieces once they are complete.

Cheers,

Amanda

She’s Alive!

Alright so I haven’t exactly been the best little blogger in the world lately.

But I’ve been swamped, really!

As I mentioned in previous posts, I’m getting ready for the Shopping show that’sΒ  on Nov 15th.

Only 2 more weeks to go *yikes*.

Needless to say, I’ve been a busy little artist.

But tonight I’ve got pictures of some of the goodies I’ve been working on.

As you’ve seen in a previous post I’ve been working on some nifty acrylic bookmarks.

Well, I now have over 100 of those funky little guys.

Here’s a look at the newest batch but these ones don’t have their ribbons or eyelets yet.

For those of you just tuning in, here’s what they will look like when they’re finished.

I also mentioned that I was working on frames.

They measure approximately 10.5″ by 10.5″ and hold a 3.5″ x 3.5″ picture.

Take a peak! Great way to brighten up any room.

And last but not least Bangles!

These are going to make an awesome fashion accessory.

They come in a variety of sizes and styles.

(If anyone’s interested I can get the measurements for you)

Very Fun.

Bookmarks Gallore

Well as promised here’s a look at the bookmarks I’ve done up so far.

I haven’t added the ribbons or eyelets to all of them yet, but it gives you an idea of the immense color variety available.

They have a unique plastic/leather feel to them.

For those of you who missed my first bookmark post here’s the information again for you.

They measures 6β€³x2β€³ and feature a small eyelet with a co-coordinating ribbon that has been fray stopped.
The back side is plain black with a signed label. $4.00 each.
No two are alike! )

I’m hoping to have around 50 done up for the trade show in November.

Guitar Commission-Part Three the conclusion

Well, the guitar commission is finally finished and delivered to the customer.

I’m still not quite sure if I like it with or without the hands better,

but it doesn’t matter since the customer is happy with it.

Just for fun, here’s a look at the progress again:

1-acoustic guitar

2-Sanded and primed

3-background roughed out

4-background details added

5-addition of the hands

6-hand details

7-re-assembled, signed and sealed. Only thing missing are the strings.

Now it’s going to live happily ever after mounted on a wall for display.

If you’d like to commission a used or broken instrument for display,Β  or any other artwork

email me at themilkeway@gmail.com

Oh and I’ve added a commission gallery where I’ll be putting all the artwork that I receive as commissions.

Cheers for now!
