Wild Orange–Gig Town Commission

So, back in 2014, I was approached to do another commissioned guitar that I’m going to share with you today.

Why am I only posting about this now, you may ask?

Simple.

I was asked to keep it on the down low because it was for a company that was, at the time, in the final stages of app development and would be launching a beta version soon and hadn’t made an official public announcement yet.

So, I kept it Hush-Hush.

Until today, that is, as I see they are fully up and running and downloadable.

Now for the details.

Last October, I received a message from Andy Altman the now CEO of Gig Town, in San Diego, California, asking if I could do a guitar for him as he had seen my other pieces online and thought they were “awesome.” *Yay!*

He wanted it for the headquarters of his new biz and asked that it include their logo (another reason I couldn’t share pics ’til now).

Of course I agreed because I love a challenge and I love painting, so it was a win-win. Plus, it gave me one more piece to add to my Colour of Music series.

After working out all the boring details & layout, I was given free rein to start work on the piece.

A few weeks of serious painting later, (from which I’m still finding paint splashes in my studio) I was finished and ready to ship in early November.

Without further ado, here is Wild Orange–Gig Town’s Commission.

Also, here are a few pics that Gig Town has used.

I’d love to hear what you think of the piece! 🙂

Also, go check out Gig Town and Download their App to explore lots of awesome musicians!

Oh, and if you want to commission a custom painted guitar, I’m your Gal!

Here are some of the other pieces I’ve had commissioned and sold.

80’s Galaxy style Electric Guitar

Well I started the Electric Guitar commission order from my Etsy site and it’s seems to be getting an 80’s Galaxy feel.

It’s not complete yet but I thought I would share a sneak peek.

I still have to re-assemble it and paint the front plate and put all the shiny silver hardware back on.

Speaking of silver, I plan on adding some silver flecks through out to give it a bit of glint.

Splash paint guitars are fun to paint and guaranteed unique though I have done other styles in the past like these two pieces.

These are also commission able and I currently have 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic and 1 miniature guitar in stock  just waiting for someone to commission them.

Commission one here:

Also apparently the decision as to who will do the City Hall Public Art project has been moved to Tuesday so there’s still hope 🙂

Cheers,

Amanda

Homecoming Commission

One of my favorite things is being asked to commission a piece of Art.

There’s just something fascinating about seeing what painting really captures someones attention plus the pressure of a deadline keeps me on task.

So yay for me 🙂 because I have a couple lined up at the moment.

One is an electric guitar that someone would like done abstracted,

and the other

is a rendition of my “Homecoming” abstract painting but in a different color scheme.

Homecoming 16″x20″

So that is what I’m working on this evening 🙂

Well less chat more paint.

I’ll be sure to post both pieces once they are complete.

Cheers,

Amanda
