Alberta Culture Days

This weekend I’m participating in Alberta Culture Days. Saturday I get to do a free foam printing workshop sponsored by the multicultural association. It should be a lot of fun and it’s geared towards all skill levels so if you are in the area stop in and say hi and take in all the fun events!

Fort Saskatchewan River fest 2017

As I mentioned earlier I was invited to exhibit my art at the final day of the Epcore Riverfest. A celebration of the North Saskatchewan River. This was the first year that Fort Saskatchewan has participated and they wanted a local Artist presence to add to the exhibit.

I was originally supposed to set up inside the pavilion but the weather was nice and the exposure was better outside so I had a gorgeous albeit chilly location and got to meet with some wonderful people as they took in the beauty surrounding us.

Here are a few pictures and pieces of the day.

Big thank you to everyone that came by for a look, sale or chat!

Block Print Bonanza

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been working away on a new series of Block Prints inspired by themes and imagery in the Bible. I’ve been focusing primarily on animals and plants of significance.

So far I have done the classic Lion and Lamb, Eden tree Pomegrantes, Soul Mates, Sparrow and a Honey Bee.

Here’s a peak at these new blocks and two test print and reveals.

You can see lots more of these by following me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/milke.amanda/

I haven’t decided what to do next so it will be a surprise for both of us 😉

Once the print run is done I’ll be listing the prints for sale in my etsy shop and by direct message. What’s your favorite so far?

Cheers!

Artistic excavation

As I was hunting through the studio over the weekend looking for something else, I came across my stash of block printing supplies and thought I was long overdue for a new run of prints.

So I spent the weekend carving out some blocks. Here’s a look at the new pieces, I have a few more in the planning stages that I hope to carve out soon and then maybe this coming weekend I’ll have time to do a print run.

Thanks for checking things out.

Cheers,

Amanda
