Block Print Bonanza

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been working away on a new series of Block Prints inspired by themes and imagery in the Bible. I’ve been focusing primarily on animals and plants of significance. 

So far I have done the classic Lion and Lamb, Eden tree Pomegrantes, Soul Mates, Sparrow and a Honey Bee. 

Here’s a peak at these new blocks and two test print and reveals.

I haven’t decided what to do next so it will be a surprise for both of us 😉

Artistic excavation

As I was hunting through the studio over the weekend looking for something else, I came across my stash of block printing supplies and thought I was long overdue for a new run of prints. 

So I spent the weekend carving out some blocks. Here’s a look at the new pieces, I have a few more in the planning stages that I hope to carve out soon and then maybe this coming weekend I’ll have time to do a print run.

New Abstraction

Ever get that feeling where you have to stop everything and create something new???

Well I do lol usually when I’m in the midst of a series or have a stack of unfinished paintings to work on.

Needless to say this came into existence last night.

It has a mix of soft & fluid paints, iridescents and pearl x pigments.

It’s hard to get color accurate pictures until I can get some pics in nature lighting but it gives you an idea. I still plan to add some more detail, glazes and perhaps a heavy gloss to finish it.

Burning the Midnight oil
