Stockpiled creativity

Morning/Afternoon/Whatever time of day it is,

Today feels more like business than pleasure.

(Which granted isn’t necessarily a bad thing since it’s the Art business.)

I’ve  spent the morning scanning some art to make into prints for the trade show in November.

I’m hoping to do up a bunch and whatever doesn’t sell at the tradeshow will be put online to sell.

So as I was scanning, I came across a postcard sized piece I did last Christmas while on a train ride to Tokyo and thought I’d share it with you today.

So as is the norm, I was sitting with my feet up. I have this tendency to either sit crossed legged or with my feet on something. I’ll probably suffer with bad hips or arthritis when I’m older but what are you going to do. I also had the camera with me because we were taking pictures out the train window. So I snapped this pictures of my feet and thought it made for an interesting composition. Continue reading “Stockpiled creativity”

Guitar Commission-Part Three the conclusion

Well, the guitar commission is finally finished and delivered to the customer.

I’m still not quite sure if I like it with or without the hands better,

but it doesn’t matter since the customer is happy with it.

Just for fun, here’s a look at the progress again:

1-acoustic guitar

2-Sanded and primed

3-background roughed out

4-background details added

5-addition of the hands

6-hand details

7-re-assembled, signed and sealed. Only thing missing are the strings.

Now it’s going to live happily ever after mounted on a wall for display.

If you’d like to commission a used or broken instrument for display,  or any other artwork

email me at themilkeway@gmail.com

Oh and I’ve added a commission gallery where I’ll be putting all the artwork that I receive as commissions.

Cheers for now!

Guitar Commission-Part 2 and 1/2

Just a quick note to let you all know that I have finished the guitar.

It is currently signed and sealed but yet to be delivered.

I’ll be delivering the finished piece to by customer tomorrow at which point I will post the completed photo’s.

I would have finished sooner but our car was stolen Friday which needless to say, had an adverse effect on my creativity level.

With this commission finished I can focus my energies into creating things for the November trade show.

I’m planning on having an assortment of prints for sale, a bit of photography and of course some original artwork.

Oh and the business cards are all finished and printed looking quite artsy if I do say so myself 😉

Well I guess that’s it for now.

Cheers/G-night

Guitar Commission-Part Two

There’s just something about painting 3D objects that’s a fun, fun change from canvas.

The guitar is progressing beautifully.

I’m just waiting for some of the detail work to dry before adding the hands.

Here’s a few pictures to show you the progress. Continue reading “Guitar Commission-Part Two”
