Stockpiled creativity

Morning/Afternoon/Whatever time of day it is,

Today feels more like business than pleasure.

(Which granted isn’t necessarily a bad thing since it’s the Art business.)

I’ve  spent the morning scanning some art to make into prints for the trade show in November.

I’m hoping to do up a bunch and whatever doesn’t sell at the tradeshow will be put online to sell.

So as I was scanning, I came across a postcard sized piece I did last Christmas while on a train ride to Tokyo and thought I’d share it with you today.

So as is the norm, I was sitting with my feet up. I have this tendency to either sit crossed legged or with my feet on something. I’ll probably suffer with bad hips or arthritis when I’m older but what are you going to do. I also had the camera with me because we were taking pictures out the train window. Nothing much

Not much to report today.

I’m still sick and coughing my brains out but I did still manage to worked on 2 more preliminary sketches of friends to abstract this weekend.

I’m not going to post them however, because they’re still pretty rough.

I might have time to do one of them tomorrow night, if not I’ll definitely get them done Saturday barring any unusual happenings.

I also have a Japanese calligraphy class on Sunday which should be fun. This will be my 4th or 5th class. 😛

Stay tuned in, I’ll be sure to be posting a bunch more in the next few days or so.

tiny sketch, long day

So I’m exhausted.

Today I had the fun experience of renewing my work visa.

This entailed approximately an hour and 15 min drive to get to Morioka, 30 min. on foot to find the place, 30 min to process the application, 15 min walk to the train station, 40 min wait for the train, 1 hour and 15 min train ride back to Mizusawa, 45 min lunch break, 1 hr of office work, 1 hr drive to Ichinoseki, 5hrs of teaching, 45 min drive home…CRAP day!

So, you may as well say I worked all day because I left for work a 8am and just got home now at 8:50pm.

BLEH

So this is all you get!

A quick sketch I did on the train.

I am hoping however, that when I have some time again to turn it into a larger piece.

I want to black out the people and focus on the window with all the blurring colors as the train travels by.

I dunno if that will happen this weekend or not because I’m also working SUNDAY.

Have I mentioned I’m looking forward to coming home???

New Project

Today turned out to be more productive than I had expected.

I was trying to decide how I wanted to proceed with the “Sex” painting and ended up sketching out a new image that I like a lot.

The problem is, I couldn’t decide what medium to use.

SOOO, I’ve decided to start a new series titled “Hold Me.” I’m going to explore different mediums using the same image.

That’s right folks, it’s the start of a new week and the start of a new series.
