A few days, a few weeks…who’s counting

Alright, alright so my “I’ll be posting in the next couple of days” turned into a few weeks.

If you think that’s bad, my husband always complains that my “just a minute” turn into hours… 😛

But it’s ok, because I’m here and you’re here and that’s all that matters, right!

Before I jump back into “the while I was gone art” I should give you another heads up that we’re moving again.

Yup, yippee, *groan* I am so sick of packing/unpacking. I’m living out of cardboard boxes and as fitting as that is for a struggling artist, I’m not really digging it. Anyways, we’ll be moving to Edmonton at the end of the month so brace yourself for more sporadic posting until I’m settled again.

Enough of the chatter on with the art!

Well I must be doing something right!

Just thought I’d share this with my readers.

Today lol I got a C&D a Cease and Desist.

For what you might ask…well, remember the pop art piece I did of my friend Eve.

Well when I went to look at my recent comments I found this on my “about me” page:

” Dear Sir, the name arteve is copyrights by myself and at the patentamt Munich in 1999. Please sont use this name for your business because I am using this name art eve and pop art eve since the year 1998.
Sincerely eva Horstick-Schmitt germany”

I figure I’ll leave it there for posterity for awhile…it amuses me.

Anyway, apparently this person feels my descriptor of “pop art” combined with the friends name “Eve” is infringing on his/her copyright.

I’m not terribly worried since I have neither business nor art piece by that name.

However, I thought it was worth a chuckle, so I had to share.

And hey look at it this way, I’m being noticed in Munich 😛

Crazyness

Just wanted to drop everyone a quick note to say my creative energies have been re-directed as of late.

We are currently at the 4 week countdown stage.

Corvus corax

Otherwise known as the common Raven is one of my favorite birds.

There’s just something about them that fascinates me.

I like the way they hop about with their shiny black feathers and smart beady eyes always sizing you up.

But most of all, I love the sound they make, that shrill caw always brings a smile to my face and a sense of excitement.

Perhaps it’s nostalgia and nothing more.
