New Year, new toys

Miss me???

My family has safely returned to Canada after spending 3 weeks visiting us in Japan.

Christmas has come and gone and a new year has begun.

In less than 13 hours my vacation will come to an end. (sigh)

Oh well, it was a good time while it lasted plus I got to be a tourist again for a bit.

So how am I spending my last hours of vacation you ask? Well I’m playing with my new toy.

My hubby (who should be sainted) bought me a Bamboo. No not the plant, the Wacom!

Highly entertaining stuff. So now, I can use my brand new tablet to draw with.

(That is once I get the hang of it and the programs that come with it (1/2 of course are in Japanese :P)

So instead of drawing tonight, I thought I’d try my luck with a bit of photo editing in Corel Painter X.

It’s for my hubby’s blog. (Oh and Greg I hope this is entertaining enough for ya ๐Ÿ™‚ )

This is just to say…

This is just to say that I won’t be on for awhile.

I’m finishing my last week of work before vacationย  and then I’m going to Tokyo for Christmas with my family.

Thus, I intend to be sparsely on, hopefully getting plenty of R&R.

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Wow, it’s been awhile, and what’s my excuse you ask?

Well simply put, I’ve been busy.

Christmas is coming so I’ve been prepping Christmas classes at the Eikaiwa as well as getting ready for winter vacation.

Also, my mom and grandmother will be arriving in Japan at the end of this week so, we spent all weekend housecleaning ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway all that aside, here’s my newest painting.

The colour of music

This is a piece I did back in 2005.

It’s an old guitar I got as a Christmas present one year when I was feeling especially ambitious.

I thought it would be a good idea to discover my hidden musical talents.

However, once I realized I couldn’t just pick it up and play I decided musical talents were overrated.
