“Kindred” the forgotten

I was surprised to discover, as I was updating the galleries and adding a new section “Doodles & Miscellany” that I’ve never posted one of my first and favorite paintings: “Kindred“.

This piece was done back in my High School days and I had this really nice big canvas that I made in class.

That summer I spent several hours painting in the laundry room working on it. I particularly wanted to get the eyes just right. (I love BIG cats. There’s just something about the raw power that’s, well, sexy lol) My family liked it so much, that they had it framed for me.

So, here it is.

And here’s the eye detail.

As much as I love our camera, I still haven’t mastered it. So it seems as though the eyes are grainy when you make it full size, but they really aren’t. It’s just one of those cases where you need to see it in person.

In terms of the name. I’ll give you a hint…it’s the name of a TV show that was airing when I was in High School. I know, I know I’m such a geek. Meh lol I am what I am. 😉

I’ve put the piece for now in the Abstract Gallery for lack of a better place to put it.
