Polished Pottery Pendants

Say that 3 times fast 😉

Anyway lol I finished up the pendants I posted about a few days ago and I’m loving the triple thick gloss.
It gives each piece a gorgeous shine and pottery appearance.

I still haven’t decided what my default necklace will be, ball chain, silk cord or color coordinated suede cord.

Also I’m trying to decide which style I like best. A few years ago I painted wooden bangles in the color blocked black doodle style andi sold out of them to a local skate/snowboarding shop so I tried it out on the pendants.

The other style is a more abstract organic textured print.  Personally I’m leaning towards that one.

I’d love to get your thoughts on them which one would you love to wear?

Well it’s been a long week and my carpal is acting up so I’m taking the night off to rest.
Have a Great weekend!
Tune back in next week for more Art.

Cheers,
Amanda

Wild Orange–Gig Town Commission

So, back in 2014, I was approached to do another commissioned guitar that I’m going to share with you today.

Why am I only posting about this now, you may ask?

Simple.

I was asked to keep it on the down low because it was for a company that was, at the time, in the final stages of app development and would be launching a beta version soon and hadn’t made an official public announcement yet.

So, I kept it Hush-Hush.

Until today, that is, as I see they are fully up and running and downloadable.

Now for the details.

Last October, I received a message from Andy Altman the now CEO of Gig Town, in San Diego, California, asking if I could do a guitar for him as he had seen my other pieces online and thought they were “awesome.” *Yay!*

He wanted it for the headquarters of his new biz and asked that it include their logo (another reason I couldn’t share pics ’til now).

Of course I agreed because I love a challenge and I love painting, so it was a win-win. Plus, it gave me one more piece to add to my Colour of Music series.

After working out all the boring details & layout, I was given free rein to start work on the piece.

A few weeks of serious painting later, (from which I’m still finding paint splashes in my studio) I was finished and ready to ship in early November.

Without further ado, here is Wild Orange–Gig Town’s Commission.

Also, here are a few pics that Gig Town has used.

I’d love to hear what you think of the piece! 🙂

Also, go check out Gig Town and Download their App to explore lots of awesome musicians!

Oh, and if you want to commission a custom painted guitar, I’m your Gal!

Here are some of the other pieces I’ve had commissioned and sold.

Photo Entry

I don’t really have a whole lot to say, just been busy working away.

That being the case, I thought instead of writing a lengthy entry on how things are progressing I’d simply show you.

Here’s what I’ve started or have done.

Most of these pieces have been posted to my Etsy store with the exception of the new entry into my “colour of music” series guitar that is still in progress.

Well back at it 🙂

Cheers,

Amanda

Jewelry in Progress

Some of my new supplies arrived last week so I’ve been busy painting, sanding, varnishing and glossing…I’ll save the “sanding & varnishing” for another entry and show you some of the “painting & glossing” this entry.

If you’ve been following along you’ll know that in the last could of years I’ve branched out artistically into the realm of jewelry and because I am in love with the Abstract Impressionist form & color I really wanted to incorporate that into my jewelry which I did in my watercolour painted pendants.

But now I have added a new type of paint to my arsenal that let’s me create beautiful organic yet abstract feeling textures & patterns.
These are just a few of the pieces I’ve been working on.

I love how rich and vibrant I can get the colours and how beautifully the blend & mix. Also can you tell that I’m in love with this gorgeous teal color.
The pieces that seem foggy had the sealer drying on them.

So stay tuned for some lovely pieces to be added to my Shop soon!
Also keep checking back for more in progress posts on art & jewelry.

Cheers,
Amanda
